Who is the Artist Credit Card Lady???
That's
me! I'm Betsey, or, simply..."the Artist Credit Card Lady". I was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland
on the beautiful Chester River. Now, Jim Campbell, my husband/partner, and I live with our dog, Codie, just outside of Washington
DC. Our wonderful kids, daughter Ashton and son Peter grace the halls of nearby universities in Virginia and Maryland when
they're not at home raiding the fridge and staying up too late. Home improvement projects, gardening, cooking,
reading and being with friends keep us both busy and happy when we're not in the office or attending art festivals.
My very first “real” job out of college was to work with Tennessee Williams in Key West, Florida (certainly
couldn’t pass that one up!) After 5 years of perfect weather, sailing, windsurfing and lots of fun, I moved
to Atlanta to begin a successful career in magazine advertising sales. I later entered the credit card industry as a
consultant. It is a complicated business filled with constant changes and challenges; however, I felt energized from the start
because I was able to help others understand it and was also able to help them reduce costs – a win/win situation for
everyone!
In the 1990's, I volunteered to help on the Smithsonian Craft Show loading dock. I was completely
awe-struck by the creativity, dedication and focus of the people I met. I was enthralled by the magical 24 hour transition
from trucks/vans and blue jeans to beautiful booths and “stylin’” artisans. After becoming friends
with a few artists at the Smithsonian show, I was asked about my work “beyond the loading dock”. That opened
up a whole new venture for me because I soon found that I could make a huge difference for artists and that most of them needed
someone they could trust and who would truly look out for their best interests! Ever since then, I have made it my primary
career focus to work with artists and craftspeople. I've discovered that, by using my knowledge and skills to help them
keep more of their profits, I can do my part to keep the arts/crafts world alive and vibrant.
My mission is to
offer fair pricing for rates and equipment, and to provide outstanding service and personal availability. I am honored to
work with those of you who are already my customers (and friends) and I welcome and look forward to new partnerships to come.
Thank you for your support and your trust in me.
a.k.a. "The Artist Credit Card Lady" P.S. Feel free to also refer anyone to me from any type of business and I'll do my best - it's just that artists
and the artist community is my first priority!
