| Q: | What is PCI Compliance? | | A: | PCI compliance is a way that the industry can monitor card data security.
It is required for all merchants with every processor. Learn more. |
| Q: | Will my credit card sales go right into my own bank? | | A: | Of course! We will deposit 100% of your charges
within 24-48 hours into the bank of your choice each time you make a deposit. At the beginning of each month, we will
send you a statement outlining the processing charges for the previous month and then deduct those total charges from your
account. |
| Q: | What if I don't have a studio or store-front? | | A: | No problem. If you sell at shows and work out of your
home, you can still apply for credit card processing as long as we include a copy of a show listing with your application. |
| Q: | Do I have to buy new equipment? | | A: | No. Most terminals can be reprogrammed. If they can't, I'll review the equipment options with you. |
| Q: | Do I have to accept all types of cards? | | A: | It's up to you. You can either accept
only Visa/MC, including Bank Debit/Check cards or you can choose to also accept Discover and/or AMEX. |
| Q: | What is the discount rate? | | A: | Great question! Rates and fees are complicated since it depends mostly on the way you do business,
how you are set up and the types of cards given to you by your customers. The fairest way for me to work with your account
is to do a cost comparison with your current processor. Once that is complete, I will review the rates with you and, should
you wish to make an application, I will send you the papers outlining each and every fee so that we can go over each possible
cost before sending the application for approval. |
| Q: | What if I've never taken credit cards before? Is it hard to get started? | | A: | Not at all. I'll
help you every single step of the way and make sure that all of your questions are answered before you make a decision to
apply. |
| Q: | I manually imprint the card at shows ("knuckle-bust") - what information should I get from my customer? | | A: | I recommend
that you get as much information as possible, including complete address (card billing address) telephone number, cell number,
3 digit security code on the back of the card and an email address (optional.) There are several reasons for this.
First, it will help keep your costs as low as possible if you enter this information when processing your charges. Second,
it will help protect you from fraudulent charges. Third, by making sure you have an address and a phone, you will save
yourself time and possible financial losses if the card information is not accurate. Fourth, it could help you develop
a customer list for future sales. |
| Q: | How soon can I get approved with your company? | | A: | As long as I have your complete application
with signatures, it can take as little as 24 hours - typically, it's 2-5 business days, but I've been known to
make miracles happen when necessary. |
| Q: | Is it possible for me to talk with other artists who use your service? | | A: | Yes, I'd encourage you to do so and can
provide you with references upon request. |
| Q: | Can I find information about my account online? | | A: | Absolutely! There is great information
available to you 24/7 via secure web access, including statements, batches, etc. I encourage every artist to set up
their access to this important tool. |
